Position: Phlebotomist I

Title: Phlebotomist I

Location: Miami, Florida, United States, 33186

Duration: 4 months

Shift timings: M-F 5:00am-2:00pm; rotational Saturdays 6:30am-10:30am

Description:
  • The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients, assisting with health routines and health decisions.
  • The PSR I draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and follows established practices and procedures.
  • Creates a trusting environment by explaining procedures and drawing blood safely and accurately.
  • Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
  • Performs daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor, maintaining a safe, professional environment.
  • Handles forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established protocols.
  • Maintains required records and documentation.
  • Promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Required

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
  • Minimum 12 months of experience required.
  • Two years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience is essential.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Reliable transportation is required;
    Uber and public transport are not considered reliable.
  • At least 1 year of blood draw experience required.
  • Participation in mandatory classroom training at our Miramar lab is required; dates TBD.
  • Training includes traveling to nearby Patient Service Centers and classroom instruction.
  • Must handle a high volume of draws, potentially 30-40 per day.
