Job Summary

Provides support to various research studies and performs duties such as assisting with recruitment and retention efforts, conducting study assessments and activities, and the collection and handling of biospecimen samples. This position will support two projects: TRIDENT, a randomized controlled trial (RCT) examining whether and how depression treatment modifies the gut-brain axis in people with HIV; and ARCHES, a national cohort study to identify associations of stimulant use with viral suppression and inflammation among sexual minority men with HIV.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-person and remote study visits including screening, obtaining informed consent, administering study measures, conducting intervention sessions, and collecting biospecimen samples (e.g., blood, urine, fecal samples, hair and rectal swabs).
  • Handle biospecimen samples and ensure proper collection, labeling, and storage; coordinate with laboratories for drop-off/shipping, receive assay results, and log data.
  • Assist in coordinating and executing recruitment-based activities to ensure enrollment targets are met through social media campaigns, community-based recruitment, and medical provider relationships.
  • Coordinate and maintain relationships with community partners and community-based agencies (CBOs) to assist with recruitment efforts, dissemination of study results, and research lab visibility.
  • Collect and maintain data, assist with data quality assurance (QA), learn about database design, data cleaning, analytic methods, and contribute to scientific presentations and manuscripts.
  • Participate in team meetings, prepare reports, meeting minutes, and report to the project manager with study updates.
  • Maintain regulatory documents related to studies including logs, IRB submissions, study team certifications to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Abide by all Good Clinical Practice (GCP), institutional, and governing regulatory committee rules and regulations.
  • Continuously evaluate research plans, identify problems, and provide recommended solutions.
  • Assist senior staff with preparation of study reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience.
