DescriptionPerforms phlebotomy on out‑patients and in‑patients to include acute patient care areas, ICU, Oncology, Nursery, Surgery, Post Anesthesia and ED in accordance with established National Patient Safety Goals and Baptist Health published protocols. Demonstrates service excellence and positive interpersonal skills when dealing with patients, family, nurses, physicians and ancillary care team members to maximize quality patient care and assure patient satisfaction.
Performs accurate processing of all specimens in a timely manner to ensure quality patient care. Faxes and distributes results as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining knowledge and deployment of policies and procedures used within the department as well as throughout the hospital to address patient questions and concerns. Estimated pay range for this position is $23.50 per hour depending on shift as applicable.

- High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.
- Licenses &
Certifications:- Phlebotomist Certification.
- AAMA Certified Medical Assistant.
- Additional Qualifications:
- REQUIRED:
Effective August 1, 2013, Phlebotomy or medical assistant certificate will be required. - Phlebotomy and computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Ability to work in a high volume fast paced work environment.
- PREFERRED:
Hospital phlebotomy experience with oncology, neonates & pediatric patients. - Bilingual.
