About the Role
We’re searching for a Pharmacy Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. The role involves assisting with pharmacy practices while adhering to state and federal regulations. You’ll use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and coach other technicians. You will work directly with patients, doctors, and other medical personnel, and perform quality healthcare activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Review and comply with the Pharmacy Technician Code of Conduct.
- Greet healthcare providers and patients, answer questions, and refer inquiries to the Pharmacist when necessary.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking stock levels, placing orders, verifying receipt, and removing obsolete drugs.
- Apply asset protection techniques and create claims for order errors and damaged goods.
- Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy following procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Use pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring accuracy; fill prescriptions including retrieval, counting, pouring, verifying correctness, and checking for interactions.
- Report prescription errors immediately to the Pharmacist and adhere to company policies and quality improvement procedures.
- Follow government regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, and Co‑pay requirements.
- Engage patients by offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Register all related sales on the assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required.
- Assist team members as needed to maintain workflow and meet deadlines assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist.
- Process claims for third‑party reimbursement efficiently and accurately.
- Earn and maintain certification and licensure required by state regulations; attend training and complete continuing education credits.
- Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned or modified at the manager’s discretion.
Hourly Pay Range: $16.50 - $23.56.
