Clinical Research Coordinator 2 (A)

University of Miami – Department of Medicine, Division of Digestive Health and Liver Diseases.

This full‑time, onsite position requires flexibility in hours due to clinic and procedure days, and involves coordination of clinical research trials, regulatory reporting, medication dispensing, specimen processing, monitoring, and support of investigators across the campus.

• Assist in participant recruitment, retention, and eligibility screening.
• Perform study procedures, routine tests, data collection, and daily operations for moderate‑risk clinical research protocols.
• Collect, process, pack, and ship specimens according to protocol and regulations.
• Maintain study binders and filings per protocol, UM, and department policy.
• Distribute study drug materials per practice standards and clinical credentials delegated by the Principal Investigator.
• Monitor, document, report, and follow‑up on study unanticipated/adverse events and protocol deviations.
• Assist in implementing protocol amendments under direct supervision of the Principal Investigator.
• Assist with study orientation and protocol‑related in‑services to the research team and clinical staff.
• Monitor protocol implementation and study progress, keeping investigators apprised and submitting progress reports on schedule.
• Assist in communication with sponsors, data coordinating centers, compliance monitors, collaborators, investigators’ administrative personnel, and departments.
• Assist in administrative tasks of study personnel, including orientation, documenting core competencies, certification mandates, safety and responsible conduct of research education, and performance reviews.
• Adhere to cultural competency guidelines; implement strategies for language translation, health literacy, etc.
• Follow all applicable international, national, and local regulatory requirements.
• Maintain requisite skills and mandatory training in safety, equality, responsible conduct of research, continuing education, and research competencies.
• Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and procedures, safeguarding University assets.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

• Accurate completion of assignments with attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
• Discretion in handling confidential information.
• Availability for evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Commitment to the University’s core values.
• Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively.
