Job Summary

The Healthy Living Program (HLP) within Health Promotion Services (HPS) is currently seeking a Temporary Health Educator to join their team of professionals.

Duties
  • Assists in developing health promotion programs, identifies health education needs, campaigns, and action plans. Conducts one‑on‑one consultations. Develops health education curriculums, including trainings, programs, and marketing materials. Coordinates and conducts health promotion and outreach activities and events. Conducts presentations and workshops for the university community.
  • Assists with planning, implementing and evaluating health promotion and risk reduction events and programs.
  • Conducts presentations and workshops on health promotion and risk reduction topics for the university community such as stress and time management, sleep hygiene, sexual health, alcohol and other drugs, and tobacco/nicotine education.
  • Assists with conducting individual consultations on stress management, time management, sexual health, tobacco cessation, asthma and allergies, sleep hygiene, nutrition, and substance use and abuse and documents outcomes in the medical record.
  • Assists with and conducts needs assessments and analyzes programmatic and research data. Assists with the planning, dissemination, and evaluation of the institutional and national surveys. Assists with conducting focus groups.
  • Maintains HLP inventory, monitors use, and updates accordingly.
  • Assist with training and supervision of volunteers, interns, and student staff. Assists with the recruitment and retention of student volunteers.
  • Assists with the development and creation of health promotion campaigns and marketing materials such as event flyers, brochures, videos, etc.
  • Documents work performed, participant data, and evaluation summaries and submits.
  • Assists with clerical and administrative support for the day‑to‑day operations to include answering phones, scheduling appointments, managing schedules, paperwork, and form processing.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of office or related experience providing administrative support, or coordinating functions of an office or department.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience conducting health education/promotion programs in a university setting.
  • Experience working in a university setting.
  • One (1) year of health‑related experience.
