DescriptionThe incumbent will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments (diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures/treatments). The individual will obtain and verify necessary demographic and insurance information, register patients, and enter data into the scheduling system. This position requires working in a call‑center type environment and meeting individual quality metrics. The incumbent practices the Baptist Health philosophy of service excellence by providing professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians, and community members.
Qualifications- High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.
- Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast‑paced work environment.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, and have excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology (desired).
- Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office, knowledge of EMR applications, etc., and accurate typing skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines to include, but not limited to, HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, including medical necessity compliance guidelines.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole preferred.
