Job SummaryResponsible for sales and revenue generation, achieving hotel revenue goals while delivering exceptional guest service.
Key Responsibilities- Meet or exceed booking goals for guest room revenue.
- Meet or exceed budgeted costs and revenue on a monthly average while maintaining overall revenue goals.
- Promptly handle inquiry calls and manage paperwork for group bookings.
- Develop new business by identifying prospective clients and cultivating accounts.
- Attend in‑person sales calls and entertain potential clients on site.
- Use qualified account reports during sales visits.
- Monitor pricing, service levels, facilities and group activities to ensure competitiveness.
- Evaluate potential business for profitability and overall benefit.
- Prepare detailed sales contracts and group resumes.
- Follow up on bookings, verify rooming lists and cut‑off dates to ensure occupancy.
- Solicit repeat business and participate in RFP processes.
- Maintain and develop 3rd‑party group booking sites; support digital marketing initiatives.
- Conduct monthly sales blitzes and participate in sales development activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a welcoming environment for guests.
- Provide happy guest experience and greet guests with a smile, using names when possible.
- Address challenging guest situations with hospitality and urgency.
- Show strong knowledge of hotel facilities and amenities.
- Support event groups and promote hotel features.
- Maintain phone etiquette and respond to incoming calls professionally.
- Communicate clearly and honestly with team members.
- Demonstrate a can‑do attitude and willingness to stretch beyond the traditional role.
- Collaborate at all levels to create an effective, positive workplace.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.
- Sales experience in hospitality or related field.
- Professional networking in the local market.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence, negotiate, and provide friendly service.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Stand or remain stationary for long periods (3–4 hours at a time).
- Operate computers, type, dial phone, perform data entry, and manipulate tools.
- Inspect and observe details at close and long range.
- Walk around the property to give tours.
- Moderate noise level; some travel may be required.
- Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Interpret documents, safety rules, and procedures.
- Write routine reports and correspondence in prescribed format.
- Speak effectively before groups such as customers or employees.
- Interpret business records and statistical reports.
- MCR is the 3rd‑largest hotel owner‑operator in the United States.
