Position Summary

The Senior Director of HR will report to the CEO and be responsible for crafting and executing a talent strategy that fuels our firm’s expansion through exceptional talent acquisition and cultural leadership. This role requires a leader with experience recruiting, developing, and managing talent as well as experience leveraging HRIS platforms to streamline HR processes. This is a high‑impact opportunity for a recruiting‑focused HR leader to build a world‑class team and culture in a fast‑growing accounting firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • HR Strategy & Leadership: Develop and drive an HR vision that aligns with business goals, focusing on workforce planning and cultural initiatives to foster a culture of integrity and service. Partner with executive leadership to support firm growth, including M&A activities, and standardization on roles and levels across acquired firms.
  • Recruiting & Talent Acquisition: Lead recruiting efforts to attract top‑tier accounting, tax, and advisory professionals (e.g., CPAs, tax specialists). Design and execute innovative sourcing strategies using industry networks, Linked In, and job boards to meet hiring goals. Optimize candidate experience and reduce time‑to‑hire.
  • Employee Engagement & Culture: Build a positive, service‑oriented culture that enhances employee engagement and retention. Develop programs tailored to accounting professionals, such as leadership development and continuing professional education (CPE) support, to drive career growth and loyalty.
  • HRIS Utilization: Leverage experience using HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP, Pay Com, Rippling) to manage payroll, benefits, and performance tracking. Use HR analytics to inform recruiting and retention strategies, ensuring data‑driven decisions.
  • Compensation Strategy: Oversee the design of compensation packages, including incentive compensation structures to attract, retain, and reward top talent.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with employment laws (e.g., FLSA, EEOC) and accounting‑specific regulations where applicable.
  • Executive Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership on people‑related strategies, including talent integration during firm expansion or acquisitions.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within professional services, accounting, or consulting firms.
  • Experience in an environment with frequent M&A is highly desirable.
  • Experience using HRIS platforms to manage HR functions and generate actionable insights.
  • Proven expertise in leading high‑volume recruiting for specialized roles (e.g., CPAs, tax specialists) in a high‑growth environment.
  • Experience recruiting senior‑level talent is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices in a white‑collar environment.
What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary of $120,000 to $160,000, commensurate with experience, plus performance bonuses and equity participation.
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k) with matching, and unlimited PTO.
  • A collaborative, entrepreneurial culture where your expertise shapes our culture and organization.
  • An environment where you will be given the authority and discretion to build out your organization, but can still receive support and guidance when you want it.
