The University of Miami, in Miami, Florida is seeking a Dev Sec Ops Software Engineer for the Department of Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC). Duties and responsibilities include designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications. Duties will also include supporting and installing software applications and operating systems, developing and executing software testing protocols, and maintaining secure, compliant, and scalable data infrastructure to support regulated biomedical data management and analytics platforms.
Qualifications- Position requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field and 2 years of relevant experience, which must include implementing secure and efficient development processes (Sec Dev Ops ), establishing a shared repository for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates, automating secure application deployment workflows, and ensuring comprehensive testing across all stages of application development.
- Experience must also include maintaining HIPAA- and HITECH-compliant systems, implementing role-based access controls, and managing audit trails for secure data access.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in environments such as Jenkins, Git, or Argo; working with database technologies including Mongo
DB; programming in languages such as Python, No
SQL, JavaScript, or Node.js; and expertise with Agile development methodologies and tools, including Jira and Confluence. - Experience must also include implementing centralized logging and monitoring systems using tools such as Azure Monitor or ELK Stack, and managing production-grade infrastructure for data-intensive applications in a regulated environment.
- Expertise in the Azure cloud environment and in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as with cloud infrastructure providers, is required.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux systems—including networking, security, and file system management—and proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash and related tools is also required.
