This role will contribute to the development of Char Network, an open-source bitcoin staking platform. We are seeking an experienced Staff Engineer with deep expertise in systems programming to join our core team. In this role, you will be instrumental in architecting and implementing foundational components of Bitcoin Layer 2 protocols and staking mechanisms. This is a high-impact position requiring technical leadership, hands‑on development, and strategic contributions to the security and performance of our platform.

• Architect, design, and implement high‑performance, low‑level systems using C++ and Rust.
• Lead and contribute to technical decision‑making, ensuring robust security and performance best practices.
• Conduct in‑depth code reviews, identify performance bottlenecks, and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Mentor and collaborate with other engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

• Expert‑level proficiency in C++ and Rust, with a focus on systems programming.
• Strong background in low‑level programming, performance optimization, and concurrency.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable, secure, and high‑performance systems.
• Deep understanding of blockchain architectures and consensus mechanisms.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers.

• Experience building a bitcoin project or application.
• Practical experience with cryptography.
