Employees in this role are responsible for implementing and maintaining enterprise-wide systems. The position involves system administration for operating and application systems or LANs, along with planning and communication with team members to develop standards and procedures. Responsibilities include administration and optimization of systems to ensure high availability and resource management.
Illustrative Tasks- Standardize and automate processes using scripting technology.
- Install, configure, and support software.
- Develop documentation for maintenance and support.
- Test software for bugs and security issues.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and establish preventive measures.
- Create reports and documentation of findings and solutions.
- Stay updated on technological developments related to system software.
- Implement system software and modifications with minimal disruption.
- Test and deploy special software as needed.
- Document standards for system software use and operation.
- Analyze and resolve production and testing issues related to system software.
- Provide technical support for LANs and associated systems.
- Perform related duties as required.
Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience in IT systems administration, including creating, analyzing, and managing IT systems. Equivalent work experience may substitute for formal education on a year-for-year basis. Skills required include:
- Experience with Oracle Linux 7.x, 8.x, 9.x (OEL)
- Experience with Red Hat Linux 8.x, 9.x (RHEL)
- Support for Peoplesoft, including installation, upgrading, and troubleshooting
- User, storage, file system management, and troubleshooting skills
- Security hardening, patching, updating, and upgrading OEL and RHEL systems
- Installation and upgrade of OS on-premises and on cloud (OCI)
- SAMBA
- Satellite
- Oracle OSMH and local repositories for patching servers
