THE POSITIONReporting organisationally to the Senior Event Technology Manager, the AV Manager will be a key member of the FIFA
26 Technology team. The role will work closely with technology teams based in Canada, Mexico, Zurich, and other key individuals, and will be responsible for the strategic planning, management, and/or implementation of audiovisual services across back‑of‑house operations in stadiums and other venues, including press conference services, AV products, command centres, and specific operational spaces.
- Technical Expertise: In‑depth operational understanding of AV protocols and technologies including Dante, AES
67, SDI, ST2110, HDMI, and video distribution feeds. - Collaborate and Plan: Work with event organisers, venue staff, and IT service management teams throughout the lifecycle of AV service planning and delivery.
- AV Integration: Deliver AV integrations, design, configuration, and implementation for partners such as media and broadcast.
- Setup and Configuration: Oversee setup, configuration, and testing of AV equipment, ensuring compliance with IT service management standards.
- Maintenance and Upgrades: Ensure all AV services undergo appropriate maintenance and upgrades.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documents on AV requirements, budgeting, topologies, architecture, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Support Model: Define and implement a best‑in‑class support model for AV services during events and coordinate with technology and local AV teams.
- Service Management: Handle AV service requests, incidents, and changes according to ITIL processes.
- Accountability: Demonstrate commitment to responsibilities and self‑analysis, assuming consequences of one’s actions.
- Decision Making: Identify and swiftly make decisions in critical situations, take initiative, and respond to unforeseen circumstances.

- University degree or higher education in AV engineering.
- Detailed knowledge and experience in managing AV suppliers/partners.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Experience with ITSM protocols.
- Highly adept at consulting, negotiating, and facilitation.
- Minimum of 10 years overall event technology experience and at least 4 years in a similar role.
- Experience in the sports/major event industry.
- Proven track record of managing complex international sporting events.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools.
