We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to support the Benefits organization within Total Source/HRO. This role partners closely with Actuaries and the Business Intelligence team to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions that enable advanced analytics and reporting across Benefits.

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines to source, aggregate, and transform large datasets for BI and analytics use cases.
• Collaborate with Actuaries and BI Analysts to ensure high-quality, analytics-ready data for reporting and insights.
• Build and maintain data solutions using Spark and Databricks in a cloud environment (Azure or AWS).
• Develop and optimize SQL and Python-based data transformations and data models.
• Provide technical leadership on data engineering initiatives, including implementations, enhancements, migrations, and platform upgrades.
• Ensure data reliability, performance, and scalability while adhering to data governance and best practices.

• 7+ years of data engineering experience, including leadership or lead-level responsibilities.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Apache Spark and Databricks.
• Experience working in Azure or AWS cloud environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Proven experience delivering data engineering solutions across complex projects (e.g., implementations, enhancements, migrations).

• Experience supporting Benefits, HCM, or HR-related data domains (nice to have, not required).
• Retail or large‑scale enterprise data experience is a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business and analytical needs into technical solutions.
