Overview

The Tinstman Law Firm is a distinguished legal practice based in Miami, Florida, specializing in catastrophic personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, nursing home abuse, and medical malpractice. Known for our tenacious trial advocacy and commitment to delivering justice, we offer personalized legal services with a focus on deeply understanding our clients  experiences and transforming that empathy into action in the courtroom.

With a strong track record of success, The Tinstman Law Firm stands as a trusted partner for clients facing the most challenging moments of their lives. We don’t settle for easy solutions; our mission is to fight for justice, ensuring our clients receive the compensation they deserve.

As a trial-focused Paralegal at The Tinstman Law Firm, you will be our go-to resource for ensuring every legal “i” is dotted and “t” is crossed before stepping foot in the courtroom. Reporting directly to Eric Tinstman and collaborating with the new Office Manager (who will help implement systems and KPIs), you will relieve our attorneys’ heavy workloads by managing trial preparation from start to finish.

If you love juggling deadlines, championing organization, and working in a high-growth environment, read on.

What you’ll do

Trial

  • Gather, index, and maintain all medical records, exhibits, and evidence for upcoming trials.
  • Ensure trial binders are complete, accurate, and accessible for attorneys, so no crucial detail is overlooked.
  • Attend trials to support attorneys with in-court logistics, documentation, and coordination; may require occasional travel depending on case location.

Case Management

  • Monitor active cases (approximately 150 firm-wide) and flag potential issues or deadlines early.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, fellow paralegals, and the office manager to optimize trial workflows and maintain systematized files.

Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving

  • Approach each task with a proactive mindset—spotting gaps or anomalies before they escalate.
  • Coordinate with the firm’s nurse consultant and outside vendors to secure records, expert opinions, and additional data relevant to trial.

Organizational Excellence

  • Utilize case management software to maintain comprehensive electronic and physical files.
  • Keep a detailed and up-to-date checklist of all key deadlines, discovery milestones, and trial settings.
  • Work closely with attorneys to understand their strategic priorities and ensure all prep aligns with the firm’s trial goals.
  • Communicate with clients to gather crucial case information, address concerns, and relay next steps in the process.
What we’re looking for

Experience & Education

  • 3+ years of paralegal experience in litigation (personal injury or medical malpractice a plus).
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent);
Paralegal Certificate or Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred.

Organizational Mastery

  • “Type A” detail orientation that ensures zero oversight on deadlines or incomplete documentation.
  • Capable of juggling multiple trials, attorneys, and competing priorities in a busy practice.

Critical Thinking Skills

  • Ability to anticipate problems and propose solutions proactively.
  • Comfortable flagging issues for attorneys or the Office Manager to ensure immediate resolutions.
  • Work well with different personality types and across departments, including remote staff (e.g., a paralegal relocating out of state).
  • Excited to collaborate with an incoming Office Manager, who will be implementing new KPIs and systems.

Communication

  • Polished verbal and written communication skills for client interactions, document drafting, and inter-office correspondence.
  • Polite, professional, yet direct style—knowing how to keep busy attorneys informed succinctly.
  • Willing to work on-site in Miami/South Florida approximately 90% of the time, with flexibility to work remotely ~10% when needed.
  • Ready to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where processes may still be under development.
Why You Should Work Here
  • Impactful Work: Your meticulous approach to trial preparation will directly influence outcomes in life-changing personal injury and medical malpractice cases.
  • Room to Grow: The firm…
