Paralegal - Commercial Litigation & Creditors' Rights

We are seeking a professional, experienced, and proactive Paralegal to work directly with our attorneys to support the firm’s Commercial Litigation and creditors’ rights practices, including bankruptcy, insolvency, foreclosures, and other state court matters. This role supports creditor-side representation and functions as a key member of the legal team, ensuring that cases are well-organized, deadlines are met, filings are accurate, and attorneys are supported throughout all phases of litigation and bankruptcy proceedings.
The ideal candidate is motivated, eager to learn, highly organized with excellent judgment and problem-solving, and a positive mindset, who can independently manage responsibilities, anticipate needs, be comfortable working on deadlines on a large volume of matters, and prioritize urgent assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Support attorneys representing secured and unsecured creditors, lenders, investors, trustees, and other stakeholders in commercial litigation and bankruptcy/insolvency matters.
- Assist with creditor-side bankruptcy filings and case administration, including proofs of claim, motions for relief from stay, objections to plans or claims, adversary proceedings, sale-related pleadings, and post-petition enforcement actions.
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, notices, affidavits, and other litigation-related documents for attorney review.
- Manage and maintain case files in the firm’s case management system (MyCase), ensuring accurate data, calendars, tasks, deadlines, and document organization, and following the firm’s workflow SOPs.
- Track litigation and bankruptcy deadlines, court hearings, bar dates, and statutory requirements; proactively follow up to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate document collection, review, organization, and production, including managing exhibits and discovery materials.
- Conduct factual and legal research related to creditors’ rights, insolvency issues, commercial disputes, lien priority, fraudulent transfer claims, and enforcement remedies.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, trustees, financial institutions, and other parties involved in creditor-side matters.
- Assist with deposition, mediation, hearing, and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness files, and trial binders.
- Support post-judgment and post-petition enforcement actions, including asset investigations and collection-related proceedings.
- Provide general litigation support, including correspondence drafting, document execution coordination and intake, review/analysis, e‑filing court documents, and file maintenance.
- Assist with case opening and closing procedures, document retention, and compliance readiness.
- 3+ years of experience as a paralegal in commercial litigation, creditors’ rights, bankruptcy (creditor-side), insolvency, or complex civil litigation.
- Committed to providing excellent client service and meeting all of the clients’ needs.
- Strong understanding of bankruptcy procedures, including claims administration, stay relief, plan objections, and adversary proceedings.
- Experience preparing and managing pleadings and filings in state and federal courts, including bankruptcy court.
- Excellent organizational, project-management, and deadline-tracking skills.
- Strong work ethic and time management skills; team player.
- Proficiency with legal technology, including case management systems, document management tools, e‑filing platforms, and Microsoft Office.
