Position Summary

The Analyst, Situational Management will lead incident‑management escalation calls, develop crisis action plans and support emergency preparedness for shoreside and shipboard operations worldwide. The role requires the ability to handle high‑pressure situations with aptitude and stability.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Crisis Management & Incident Response:
    Lead escalation calls for various incident types and help create/augment incident planning documents (Sit Reps, spot reports, action plans, senior leadership briefs).
  • Situational Awareness:
    Maintain organisational situational awareness with the Global Intelligence Team and the Manager of Situational Management.
  • Weather Event Response:
    Monitor imminent weather events and liaise with the company’s meteorology team to ensure accurate escalation.
  • Post‑Event Reporting:
    Compile after‑action reports and brief stakeholders as needed.
  • Surge Capacity Review:
    Update the company’s surge capacity, oversee the GO Team roster and campaigns, and train surge teams in conjunction with the Manager of Situational Management.
  • Business Resiliency:
    Maintain and update critical incident playbooks, expand global all‑hazards plans, and collaborate with IT on business resiliency.
  • Search And Rescue:
    Initiate the annual SAR plan process fleetwide, ensuring each ship is valid for the next year or as required.
  • Alerting Platform Management:
    Continuously update data and align with stakeholders for escalations.
  • Personnel Deployment:
    Assist the Manager of Situational Management in deploying personnel to ensure effectiveness and accountability.
  • Training Coordination:
    Coordinate and assist in all phases of training exercises or drills to implement response protocols for shoreside and shipboard assets.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, crisis management, homeland security or related field, or equivalent practical operational experience.
  • 3–4 years of experience in crisis response, emergency management or business continuity, preferably in maritime, military or emergency services.
  • Experience with notification/event management systems (e.g., Everbridge), Emergency Operations Centers, crisis response groups or leading teams.
  • Experience coordinating projects across departments or large teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organisational levels in a multicultural environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and technical programs.
  • Excellent writing, analytical and report‑writing skills; able to interpret business, technical and regulatory documents.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, able to manage diverse projects independently under time constraints.
  • Highly organised with effective record‑keeping and communication management.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Proven judgement, decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in multicultural environments and across all levels.
  • Self‑driven, continuously improving and bridging knowledge gaps to add value.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple projects and prioritise based on business needs.
  • Experience in maritime or travel industry operations.
  • Preferred knowledge of incident/situation management, FEMA ICD Process (ICS 100‑700 certification is a plus).
  • Incident/event logging systems experience.
  • Strong writing and typing skills; ability to meet tight deadlines and maintain professionalism in stressful situations.
  • Adaptability and quick learning in dynamic environments.
  • Experience with alerting systems, GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS), Visio, Power BI and automated dashboards.
  • Composure under pressure, collaborative teamwork, clear communication, and resilience during prolonged emergencies.
