We are seeking a Senior Electrical Superintendent for our Miami office to oversee the planning, maintenance, and lifecycle management of electrical systems across the fleet. This role provides leadership to onboard Electro‑Technical teams (17–19 personnel per vessel, with a dotted‑line reporting structure) and ensures full compliance with Class, Flag, Corporate, and all applicable safety and regulatory standards. The Superintendent directs the resolution of complex technical issues, offering expert guidance and strategic support during troubleshooting, while collaborating closely with shipboard leadership, technical superintendents, and asset management teams to support daily fleet operations.

Responsibilities include developing and executing both short‑ and long‑term plans to address electrical system obsolescence, strategically prioritizing initiatives, and coordinating large‑scale contractor projects to guarantee compliance and foster a strong HESS culture. The role also manages operational budgets to keep maintenance, repairs, and procurement within approved limits, leads the planning and execution of electrical scopes in dry‑dock specifications, and partners with technical and interior superintendents to cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities Strategic Technical Oversight

The Senior Electrical Superintendent leads technical performance and operational readiness across the PCL Fleet, aligning maintenance and repair strategies with long‑term goals and regulatory standards. They ensure operations meet safety, environmental, and performance requirements, direct dry‑dock and wet‑dock projects within budget and timelines, and develop vessel‑specific strategies integrated with fleet initiatives. This includes proactively identifying risks and opportunities to enhance reliability and efficiency.

and Budgetary Management

This role manages all electrical repair and maintenance budgets for assigned vessels, including OPEX and CAPEX planning. The Superintendent leads annual budget development, monitors expenditures, investigates variances, and collaborates with finance for transparency. They approve requisitions, evaluate cost‑effectiveness, enforce procurement protocols, and delegate purchasing and logistics while retaining final accountability. Strategic financial stewardship ensures operational excellence and cost efficiency.

Cross‑Functional Leadership and Collaboration

Serving as the primary technical liaison, the Superintendent bridges shipboard teams with shore‑side departments such as Fleet Operations, Technical Supply Chain, Hotel Technical, and Brand stakeholders. They coordinate initiatives including upgrades, vendor evaluations, and compliance projects, ensuring alignment on goals, timelines, and deliverables. This collaboration integrates technical operations seamlessly with broader business objectives.

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management

The Superintendent ensures vessels meet or exceed regulatory and classification society requirements by overseeing certifications, audits, and corrective actions. They schedule and execute ship visits, surveys, and inspections to assess compliance and technical condition, while delegating documentation monitoring and system updates. They also lead implementation of Global HESS and SMS protocols, safeguarding operational continuity and brand reputation.
