Position:
Area Supervisor

Territory: Dade and Broward

Salary: $60,000 per year

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our company specializes in providing professional, reliable, and well-trained contract commercial cleaning services to businesses, buildings, and campuses across industries, including medical, hospitality, education, institutional, and municipal sectors.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This role involves overseeing and coordinating custodial staff and activities under limited supervision. The position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and supervise janitorial operations, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and employee relations. Ensure proper prioritization and delegation of tasks.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections and address customer feedback to confirm work quality and compliance with contract standards.
  • Train employees in green cleaning practices.
  • Oversee inventory management and the distribution of materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Coordinate proper use, maintenance, and care of custodial tools and machinery.
  • Implement safety procedures, work standards, and policies.
  • Operate cleaning equipment when necessary and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Consult with HR Department to ensure employees assigned to each account meet all requirements.
  • Confere with team members to resolve performance and personnel problems and to discuss company vision, mission and procedures.
  • Complete Daily Reports, Weekly Reports and Monthly Reports.
  • Recommend changes that could improve service and increase operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate all team member performances and recommend promotions, transfers and retraining.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Leadership and Supervision: Strong understanding of leadership principles to train, assign, and schedule tasks effectively while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
  • Cleaning Techniques: Familiarity with commercial cleaning methods, materials, and equipment, including high-powered machinery such as buffers, carpet machines, auto scrubbers and vacuums. Ability to train staff on proper cleaning protocols.
  • Safety Standards: Knowledge of safety practices, occupational hazards, and procedures for handling hazardous chemicals and cleaning tools.
  • High School or equivalent supervisor work experience.
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF etc.
  • Basic knowledge of cell phones, emails, text messages etc.
  • Able to work split shifts (both day and night) based on company needs.
  • Experience reviewing and submitting payroll (budget hours against hours worked).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Travel to local client sites across South Florida is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to assist with cleaning tasks as needed.

    Skills:

    Build and maintain professional relationships with staff and clients. Address concerns promptly and professionally while ensuring schedules are adhered to within budget constraints.
  • Time Management: Organize and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and maintain productivity.
  • Decision-Making: Analyze situations and use sound judgment to make effective decisions.
  • Bilingual Communication: Proficiency in English. Spanish is preferred but not required.
REQUIRED ABILITIES
  • Work Coordination: Establish and execute effective administrative programs and procedures. Manage schedules, deadlines, and team activities efficiently.
  • Equipment Usage: Operate cleaning tools and materials in a cost-effective and safe manner.
  • Communication: Clearly understand and convey information both verbally and in writing.
  • Financial Management: Apply basic economic and accounting principles to manage budgeting and reporting processes.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Supervisors must effectively utilize and manage the TSheets timekeeping system and ensure proper training for their team.

SCHEDULE
  • Mondays thru Fridays.
  • Some Saturdays are required.

EXPERIENCE
  • Three (3) years of experience in the commercial cleaning industry.
  • Experience supervising teams of 25 or more.
