The role requires a deep understanding of airport operations, airport retail dynamics, passenger behavior, and the operational complexities unique to secure, high-traffic transportation hubs.
This leader will develop data-driven, location-specific strategies, manage time-sensitive and reputational communications, and partner closely with internal stakeholders and external entities to support growth, innovation, and operational continuity.
Responsibilities
• Define and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies tailored to airport retail and dining environments, driving brand awareness, traffic, and sales
• Develop location-specific marketing approaches by terminal, concourse, and airport, leveraging passenger flow patterns, dwell time, and travel behavior insights
• Own marketing performance metrics, establish KPIs, and measure ROI to continuously refine campaigns and maximize impact in high-traffic settings
• Ensure brand consistency and messaging alignment across all concepts, channels, and locations while adapting execution to local operational requirements
• Lead crisis, disruption, and reputation management communications related to delays, closures, security events, construction, or operational interruptions
• Collaborate with airport authorities, landlords, franchise partners, and regulatory stakeholders on co-marketing initiatives and promotional approvals
• Oversee development of compelling, concise messaging optimized for fast-moving audiences across digital, social, mobile, and on-site platforms
• Support and scale digital and experiential initiatives, including ordering technology, way finding integration, and contactless guest engagement tools
• Partner with operations, IT, and leadership teams to align marketing initiatives with on-the-ground execution and airport compliance standards
• Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing marketing teams, supporting new store openings, renovations, and portfolio expansion
• Act as the primary steward of brand integrity across all internal and external communications, including investor, partner, and public-facing materials
• Manage agency relationships, vendor partnerships, and marketing budgets to ensure efficiency and strategic alignment
Qualifications
• 10+ years of progressive marketing experience
• 3-5 years in senior or executive leadership roles
• Airport Operations / Retail Marketing experience mandatory
• Proven success managing multi-location, multi-brand, or franchise-based marketing organizations
• Background in retail, restaurant, hospitality, travel, or transportation-driven industries
• Strong strategic, analytical, and financial acumen with a track record of data-informed decision-making
• Advanced expertise in digital marketing, social media, mobile engagement, and location-based marketing
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive, and highly visible environments
• Willingness to support non-traditional schedules and peak travel periods as required
• Strong brand-building and reputation management experience in complex operational settings
