Overview
Operator Control Room at Cemex U.S. is a full-time role requiring qualification to independently operate all milling and kiln systems, under the supervision of the Production Supervisor. Demonstrated competence on the operation of both kilns is required.

Job Responsibilities- Must assist in any Cement Plant repair as directed and in refractory and repair of kiln system
- Must be able to read and interpret instrument loop diagrams, sketches and manufacturer's specifications, make simple chemical and physical control tests, and prepare clear written reports on all phases of the operations
- Must be able to start up and shut down the plant and make minor repairs and adjustments to the electrical equipment
- Must understand and operate the console equipment including CRTs, communication equipment, recorders, printers, keyboards and other control instruments used in the Cement Plant
- Must be familiar with the principles of electrical and pneumatic instrumentation in order to make necessary adjustments to operate and make minor repairs on these instruments
- Must have thorough knowledge of mechanics to diagnose problems quickly and take necessary action, including emergency repairs
- Must perform clean-up work to keep equipment and working areas clean, orderly, and safe
- Must comply with company safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
- Safety equipment includes clothing and apparatus such as hardhat, safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, back support belts, gloves and respirators
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Language Skills:

Commensurate with education (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, area and volume) - Reasoning Skills:
Able to recognize potentially hazardous situations, understand instructions from supervisor, possess common sense - 2 years in a similar industry preferred
- Ability to accurately read and use a ruler/tape measure
- Occasional exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and outdoor work
- Must wear protective equipment while at the location
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods
- Regularly required to talk and hear to communicate with employees and visitors
