Position Summary
The Pasteurizer is responsible for ensuring that all known pathogens are pasteurized and product is homogenized. This position operates and maintains pasteurizer and other related equipment within a dairy production environment in accordance with regulatory and company quality, food safety and product specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Operate and maintain Pasteurizer and other related equipment in facility.
- Monitor the dairy production process and follow Standard Operating Procedures for batching and processing products.
- Monitor fats, total solids, allergen, cryoscope and other related items in processing dairy products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating issues.
- Verify all charts including frequency pen, cut in/cut out temperatures and product recording temperatures.
- Maintain sanitation of equipment including CIP & hand cleaning.
- Operate equipment at recommended speeds and communicate mechanical and operational issues as they arise.
- Operate and clean equipment with a sense of urgency to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
- Train other employees in pasteurization operations.
- Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
- Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs.
- Utilize continuous improvement process to help define, improve, and implement test processes and tools.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
- Follow all required work safety practices, including lockout-tagout requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

Qualifications
Required
- Work Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year experience in a manufacturing facility - Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent - Technical Knowledge:
- A keen eye for detail
- Ability to closely follow quality standards
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to write legibly to complete paperwork
- Basic Math skills
- Follow and comply with all safety standards including wearing required PPE
Preferred
- Experience in food and beverage industry

This position operates in a fast-paced warehouse environment and is exposed to a wet environment. Employees are exposed to cleaning chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Employees are required to wear required PPE that is in compliance with OSHA regulations. Employees may experience swings in work-related demands of this position.
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, and bend throughout the entire shift.
Employees must occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds including above shoulder height. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must have full range of body motion.
Hours
Shift: 5:00 PM to Finish
Weekends, overtime and holidays as required
