As a Welder, you’ll operate metal fabrication equipment such as gas tungsten arc (GTAW), gas metal arc (GMAW), flux-cored arc (FAW), plasma arc (PAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), and resistance welding.
What You’ll Do- Produce a variety of parts from shop drawings to conform to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
- Operate brazing and soldering equipment
- Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening and bending machines
- Participate in continuous improvement of processes
- Cross train in other complementary skills to support production requirements
- Observe all applicable safety requirements
- At least 6–12 months of experience reading, understanding, and interpreting blueprints and basic welding process specifications under supervision
- Minimum 6 months of hands‑on exposure to basic tool fabrication methods and standard shop processes, including measuring, cutting, and fitting parts to specification
- 3–6 months of experience using production tracking or inventory control systems to log work orders, time, and materials accurately
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted)
- Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, reworks process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals and MSDS labels
- Completion of a welding apprenticeship program; or equivalent
- Attainment of trade certification
- Attainment of applicable welding ticket(s)
- Well organized with attention to detail
