Engine Mechanic - Quick Engine Change Mechanic
Location: Miami, FL
About the Company A rapidly expanding aviation maintenance organisation specialising in the overhaul, repair, and testing of aircraft engines and related component parts for both military and commercial customers worldwide. The facility operates to FAA Part 145 standards and is authorised on major engine platforms. The site features modern workshops, on-site engine test cells, and a large footprint designed to support high-volume engine and component programmes.
Position Overview The QEC Mechanic will play a key role in the disassembly, assembly, build‑up, and preparation for test of engines and their associated QECKs, modules, components, and accessories. This position supports both intermediate and depot‑level repairs, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with approved data, safety requirements, and posted work scopes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform disassembly, sub‑assembly, and final assembly of QECKs.
- Carry out disassembly, assembly, and testing of aircraft accessories.
- Use tooling and equipment correctly and safely.
- Follow configuration, fit, and servicing requirements during build.
- Complete all work in accordance with technical data, manuals, drawings, and approved work scopes.
- Conduct leak checks, prepare assemblies for test, and perform final preservation.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, safety, and quality across all tasks.
- Experience with electrical systems and wiring, hydraulic, oil, fuel, and air systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engine manuals, technical drawings, and service bulletins.
- Strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Must own a basic set of industry‑standard tools.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) licence strongly preferred.
- Ability to stand, move, and work around engine structures and inspection stations for extended periods.
- Able to lift and manoeuvre aviation parts and tooling up to 25 lbs using proper safety techniques.
- Comfortable with bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and performing repetitive motions.
- Capable of working safely in a busy repair shop environment in line with OSHA and FAA safety standards.
