At our Component Repair facility in Miami, Florida
, we are seeking a Machinist
. This is a full‑time position responsible for using milling machines, boring mills, grinders, lathes, and precision measuring equipment to perform alterations on aircraft parts and fabricate tools.

Responsibilities
  • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in the preparation of machinery work.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variant tools to perform precision machining operations.
  • Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to repair products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
  • Check work pieces to ensure they are properly lubricated or cooled.
  • Position and fasten work pieces.
  • Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Confer with engineering or supervisory personnel to exchange technical information.
  • Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of methods of repairing, installing, and maintaining components of aircraft articles.
  • Skilled in performing repairs and modifications on aircraft articles.
  • Familiar with tools and equipment appropriate for the functions performed.
  • Ability to understand and interpret documents related to technical manuals, diagrams, and safety rules.
