Filler Operator

This position fills containers and oversees the filler to ensure the quality of the product.

• Clean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment on the production line.
• Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
• Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of product.
• Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced.
• Adjust filler timing and filling, and check mat as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
• Track work completed during shift, and note any problems or special information the Production Supervisor should know.
• Collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing.
• Use labeler and watch for jams, threading wrap properly to prevent downtime due to error.
• Perform filler and filler line changeovers in a safe and efficient manner.
• Complete cleaning checklist once line has completed run.
• Prepare equipment for the next run to include size changes as needed.
• Train other employees in Filler Operations.
• Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
• Utilize continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
• Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
• Responsible for food safety, pre‑requisite programs and food quality related to designated area. Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required

• Work Experience:
  
  One (1) to Two (2) years related experience and/or training
• Education:
  
  High School diploma or Equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Technical Knowledge:
  Working knowledge and experience with labeler operations;
  Effective verbal and written communication skills;
  Basic Math skills;
  Follow and comply with all safety standards
• Additional Skills/Notes:
  Able to work in a fast‑paced environment;
  Dependability;
  Adherence to safety requirements and wearing required PPE;
  Able to work in a team environment;
  Able to multi‑task and be organized;
  Pass all pre‑employment screens, including drug, background and criminal checks

Preferred

• Experience in food and beverage industry

This position operates in a fast‑paced warehouse environment that is exposed to wet and cold conditions. The employee will have some exposure to cleaning chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Employees are required to wear required PPE such as hearing protection that is in compliance with OSHA regulations. Employees may experience swings in work‑related demands of this position.

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to stand, walk, push, or pull throughout the entire shift.

Employees must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds, including above shoulder height. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must have full range of body motion.
