Windstar Cruises is a luxury small ship global cruise line, dedicated to delivering unique travel experiences that are beyond ordinary to our discerning guests. We are seeking a Creative Director to lead the creation of our new in‑house creative team and elevate the visual and creative direction of our brand to ensure its unique brand identity is clearly present in all elements being produced.
This role will report to the Vice President of Marketing and be a key contributor in positioning Windstar Cruises as a leader in a highly competitive market.
As the Director of Creative & Content at Windstar Cruises, you will be a key leader within the Marketing organization, reporting to the Vice President of Marketing. You will own the ongoing creative and content expression of Windstar’s luxury brand and “180 degrees from ordinary” positioning across all guest touchpoints—shoreside and onboard. This role will evolve our in‑house creative team into a content‑led, always‑on publishing engine that brings the rebrand to life daily.
This role will own the creative and editorial vision and ensure consistent, premium brand expression across owned channels (dot‑com, email/CRM, onboard, trade/sales) and amplified through social/earned media. You will lead end‑to‑end storytelling—from strategy to production to distribution—using performance insights and AI‑enabled tools to scale quality content efficiently. In addition, you will own Windstar’s quarterly promotional campaigns and key tactical initiatives, ensuring they ladder into the always‑on program.
Success will be measured by exceptional creative quality and by sustained audience growth, engagement, and commercial impact driven by consistent, on‑brand storytelling at scale.
- Lead the evolution of Windstar’s in‑house creative team into a best‑in‑class content‑led team that delivers always‑on storytelling and campaign support across marketing, sales, and product delivery.
- Establish a clear creative and editorial vision that translates the rebrand into daily content, defining what Windstar stands for and how we show up across channels.
- Translate brand priorities into actionable, platform‑specific content and distribution strategies that drive awareness, deepen engagement, and deliver measurable business outcomes across owned, earned, and emerging channels.
- Define and own Windstar’s ongoing content strategy, including editorial pillars, recurring series, seasonal narratives, and channel priorities aligned to business goals.
- Build and maintain an editorial roadmap and publishing cadence that supports the rebrand year‑round (not only during campaigns).
- Develop scalable content formats and series (“content IP”) that can be produced efficiently and recognized as Windstar signatures across channels.
- Own editorial governance and prioritization, balancing always‑on roadmap vs. campaign and stakeholder needs with clear capacity allocation.
- Serve as the senior guardian of Windstar’s brand identity, ensuring all content and creative deliverables reflect luxury, distinctiveness, and the “180 degrees from ordinary” promise.
- Maintain and evolve brand guidelines, templates, and toolkits to enable consistent, efficient content creation across global channels.
