VP of Marketing

Smart Barrel provides time tracking hardware and software solutions to contractors across North America. With strong product market fit and doubling revenue year over year, Smart Barrel is experiencing rapid growth and is eager to welcome talented, passionate individuals to help drive meaningful impact across construction.

We are seeking an innovative and driven Vice President of Marketing to generate new business leads, increase Smart Barrel's brand awareness, and grow market share. This role is pivotal in our growth goals including building and executing marketing strategies, and contributing to the growth of our brand presence. In this role, you will be optimizing marketing across different channels, you'll be working with some of the best construction companies in the industry, and promoting the Smart Barrel solution to help improve one of the world's largest industries.

To ensure success, you will need extensive knowledge of marketing strategies, have seasoned skills in inbound marketing and can identify and bring in SQLs.

• Create and execute a marketing strategy
• Working with the product management team on product marketing activities to ensure that information & messaging is being conveyed effectively
• Own the marketing budget and prioritize channels based on ROI
• Try new things constantly and consistently measure results to see what works
• Managing the marketing team and ensuring priorities are laid out and successful channel ownership
• Develop and execute marketing campaigns that will generate leads
• Ensure brand consistency across all marketing channels.
• Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gaining insight and assessing goals.
• Website Management including Content, Blog posting, and design.
• Providing updates on the progress and results of marketing activities
• Keep up to date on the latest news in the industry processes and participate in local networks
• Coordinate and manage external contractors for marketing activities
• Customer site visits may be required and will include travel throughout North America

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or similar.
• At least five years of experience as a marketing manager or higher role in a SaaS company ideally in construction tech.
• Product Marketing background is an asset
• Experience with Claude, ChatGPT and other AI Tools
• Construction Industry experience or knowledge is an asset
• Extensive knowledge of marketing strategies, channels, and branding.
• Experience with Wordpress and web development
• Knowledge of SEO/SEM/AEO
• Content writing & creation experience
• Experience with graphic design and content creation tools (Adobe, Canva)
• Analytically driven with experience using Google Analytics and skills to use data and metrics
• Strong time management and organizational abilities.
• Growth mindset: desire to continue to improve, simplify, scale new and existing processes
• Experience with Hub Spot and other marketing platforms
