Certified Nursing Assistant, Dermatology – University of Miami

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics – Nursing 6 South Dermatology UTower is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to work full‑time, 3×12 hour shifts, including days, nights, and one weekend day.

• Provide patients’ personal hygiene assistance, including bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves, and assist with showers.
• Support patients with meals and feeds, ambulation, turning, positioning, and offer fresh water and nourishment between meals.
• Administer enemas, douches, non‑sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, therapeutic and sitz baths, and apply restraints.
• Perform sugar and acetone urine testing, specimen collection, and post‑mortem care.
• Respond promptly to patients’ call lights and requests.
• Maintain a safe and attractive environment for patients and staff while transporting patients and equipment.
• Report patient conditions to the assigned nurse for professional assessment.
• Measure and record food and liquid intake and output, and check and record vital signs.
• Help patients walk, exercise, and move in and out of bed.
• Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.

Core Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year relevant experience.
• Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
• Commitment to the University’s core values.
• Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
• Proficiency in computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
