Description The Direct Patient Care Registered Nurse (DPC RN) delivers patient‑family centered care in the ICU, mastering core competencies such as assessment, technical skills, communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, planning, intervention, evaluation, flexibility, organization, professional accountability, leadership, and service while promoting evidence‑based practice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Nursing.
- Registered Nurse license.
- Required certifications:
Neonatal Resuscitation Program, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate. - Completion of a preceptor class within twelve months of being deemed competent by department leadership.
- Additional qualifications:
RNs hired after 2/1/2012 (South) must complete a BSN within five years; certain certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, or ONS may be required by departmental standards.
Minimum Required Experience Less than 1 year.
