Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Dog Walker / Pet Sitter (Pet Care Specialist) - Midday, Evenings + Weekends

Equipaws Pet Services is a local, woman-owned pet sitting and dog walking company that has served Miami pet families since 2011. We help pets thrive at home, and we give their people peace of mind through dependable, detail-oriented care and great customer service. Our team takes pride in building trusted relationships with the pets and families we care for every day.

The

Opportunity

Do you love animals, enjoy working on your own, and want a job that keeps you active? You'll spend your afternoons and evenings walking dogs, caring for cats and other household pets, and making sure pet parents know their animals are in great hands while they're at work or away. This role is a great fit for someone who is dependable, organized, and comfortable managing their own route.

It's meaningful work that combines responsibility, flexibility, and real connection with animals. This role starts part-time, with a path to full-time hours for team members who show reliability and great client care.

What You'll Do
  • Provide midday and dinner visits, including safe, engaging dog walks
  • Handle bedtime potty breaks and late-evening check-ins
  • Provide in-home pet sitting for dogs, cats, and small pets, including weekends and holidays
  • Feed pets, refresh water, give treats, clean litter boxes, and give medications as instructed
  • Give cats playtime and companionship, not just food and a clean box
  • Help vacationing clients by bringing in mail and managing trash
  • Send detailed visit notes and photos through our mobile app so pet parents stay connected
  • Plan efficient routes to keep drive time between visits short
  • Build trusted client relationships through professionalism, consistency, and clear communication
What Success Looks Like

In your first 6-12 months, you will:

  • Earn client trust through reliable, caring service and steady communication
  • Share detailed visit notes and great photos that help pet parents feel close to home
  • Confidently and safely handle dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities
  • Manage your own visit schedule with strong time-management and organization
  • Help us keep clients happy and coming back through dependable, high-quality care
  • Shifts fall between 12:00 PM and 9:30 PM, Monday through Sunday
  • Many routes include a split shift: a midday block (about 12-4 PM) and an evening block (about 5:30-9:30 PM), with a break in between
  • Weekend and holiday availability is required, because pets need care every day
  • Vacation sitting jobs often run 1-2 weeks, and sitters sometimes team up to share morning and evening visits
  • Positions start part-time, with the opportunity to grow into full-time as routes and client demand expand
You're a Great Fit If You Required
  • Genuinely love animals and enjoy helping people
  • Are comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and breeds
  • Are dependable, trustworthy, organized, and good at managing your time
  • Communicate well and give friendly, professional customer service
  • Like working independently outdoors in Miami weather year-round, rain or shine (and summer heat!)
  • Have consistent availability for midday, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Have a valid driver's license, an insured vehicle, a smartphone, and email access
  • Live within a reasonable commute of our service area
  • Can pass reference checks and a background check, and are authorized to work in the U.S.
