Pharmacy Customer Service Associate – Walgreens

Responsibilities- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Register sales on the assigned cash register and provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient checkout service.
- Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in pharmacy practices, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving customer issues, and answering questions.
- Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Recommend items for sale to customers and trade‑up or companion items.
- Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, exchanges, and take customers to the OTC aisle when possible.
- Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, maintain records, check in and price merchandise.
- Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine, checking for interactions, and scheduling workflow.
- Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty, follow Company policies and procedures for pharmacy errors, and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Adhere strictly to Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
- Process manual claims for third‑party program prescription services and perform other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
- Assist and support the Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments, and file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
- Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise, and complete resets and revisions as directed.
- Assist with separation of food items and proper product placement as specified by policies, and perform stock rotation using the first‑in, first‑out method.
- Have working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
- Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print, and creative machine, and suggestively sell promotional photo products.
- Assume web pick‑up responsibilities: monitor orders in Picture Care Plus, fill orders, and deliver orders to customers as they arrive at the store.
- Assists with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring a clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state‑required certification/registration.
- Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager or assigned by corporate, acquire continuing education credits, and maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (unless located in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Good math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing medications).
- Good computer skills.
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- PTCB certification.
