SummaryThe Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) will work directly in the assurance of product realization, assist in the development of new projects and current production, and satisfy government and commercial quality standards in apparel manufacturing. The QAE develops and updates quality work instructions, implements new strategies to improve quality auditing skills, supports supplier development, and handles day‑to‑day quality activities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Work closely with engineering and manufacturing on new projects to ensure quality and processes are applied in production.
- Document verification and validation of new products.
- Analyze and develop plans to bring quality at the source.
- Lead the quality training certification program.
- Train and coordinate quality trainer auditors.
- Update and prepare work instructions and procedures in the quality area.
- Promote continuous improvement in the manufacturing area.
- Apply textile knowledge and understand trim components.
- Assist with government/commercial presentation of the first article, article inspection, review, and approval in‑house or at the subcontractor’s location if needed.
- Focus on problem prevention, quality assurance, continuous improvement, data collection and reporting, and corrective and preventive action for quality issues.
- Investigate problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies using statistical quality control, data analysis, problem‑solving techniques, and lean manufacturing concepts.
- Understand government, commercial specifications, procedures, and work instructions.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
