Vol Research Scholar – University of Miami

Temporary appointment for Jackson‑employed residents or fellows engaging in research as part of training. Appointment provides opportunities to be investigators on grants.

• Prepares research proposals with detailed rationale, background data, and proposed methods.
• Designs and writes programs to perform analysis and produces written reports on results.
• Collects pilot data to support new and competing renewal applications.
• Adheres to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
• Maintains data files and conducts data analysis.
• Drafts and publishes manuscripts and articles for peer‑reviewed journals.
• Prepares and submits grant applications.
• Designs, executes, interprets, and integrates scientific data.
• Presents research findings at local and national scientific conferences.

• MD or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Resident or fellow in University of Miami program.
• Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
