Voluntary Research Scholar (A) – University of Miami

Location:

Miami, FL. Full-time position in the Department of Neurological Surgery.

• Prepares research proposals with detailed rationale, background data, and proposed methods and organization.
• Designs and writes programs to perform analysis and produces written reports on results.
• Collects pilot data to help support new and competing renewal applications.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
• Maintains data files and conducts data analysis.
• Drafts and publishes manuscripts and articles for peer-reviewed journals.
• Prepares and submits grant applications.
• Designs, executes, interprets, and integrates scientific data.
• Presents research findings at local and national scientific conferences.

Education: Doctorate degree in Medicine (MD) required.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.

Licensing: Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements.

• Dedicate themselves to preliminary laboratory experiments in the joint labs of Dr. Iavarone, Dr. Shah, and Dr. Ruiz-Cordero.
• Gain valuable knowledge in molecular biology to develop a novel multiomics pipeline for liquid biopsy candidates in glioblastoma.
