Voluntary Research Scholar (A) – University of Miami
Location:
Miami, FL. Full-time position in the Department of Neurological Surgery.
- Prepares research proposals with detailed rationale, background data, and proposed methods and organization.
- Designs and writes programs to perform analysis and produces written reports on results.
- Collects pilot data to help support new and competing renewal applications.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
- Maintains data files and conducts data analysis.
- Drafts and publishes manuscripts and articles for peer-reviewed journals.
- Prepares and submits grant applications.
- Designs, executes, interprets, and integrates scientific data.
- Presents research findings at local and national scientific conferences.
Education: Doctorate degree in Medicine (MD) required.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.
Licensing: Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements.

Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications. - Communication:
Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Dedicate themselves to preliminary laboratory experiments in the joint labs of Dr. Iavarone, Dr. Shah, and Dr. Ruiz-Cordero.
- Gain valuable knowledge in molecular biology to develop a novel multiomics pipeline for liquid biopsy candidates in glioblastoma.
