Join us as a Postdoctoral Associate in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the University of Miami.
OverviewAs a Postdoctoral Associate, you will conduct high‑impact scientific research under the supervision of managing staff, and your work will promote institutional recognition by making literary contributions to the scientific community.
Core Job Functions- Conduct research on specific areas of study as assigned.
- Prepare research reports and technical papers for publishing.
- Investigate the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
- Maintain substantial knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art principles and theories.
- Develop advanced analytical models and systems, and provide solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
- Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.

Core Qualifications- MD or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- No prior experience required.
- Design and synthesize nanoparticles targeted to patient‑derived GBM models by functionalization.
- Work in vitro using patient‑source glioblastoma stem cells, performing cell‑culture experiments, cytotoxicity assays, uptake studies, and advanced molecular‑biology techniques.
- Conduct in vivo testing using animal models.
- Perform experiments to evaluate the biodistribution and efficacy/safety of nanoparticle formulations.
- Interpret data with advanced methods such as flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, MRI/PET imaging, and bioinformatics tools.
- Collaborate with team members across disciplines such as chemistry, biology, neurosurgery, and engineering.
- Write manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals, grants, and presentations at scientific conferences.
- Train graduate and undergraduate students in research laboratory practices.
- Adhere to all university and agency policies regarding animal welfare, safety, security, and compliance.
MD or Ph.D. in a relevant field, or Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field with emphasis in Cancer Biology or Drug Delivery systems.
ExperienceExperience with brain tumor models, BBB studies, and/or theranostic nanoparticles preferred.
