DepartmentSpecific Functions
The Postdoctoral Associate will support an advanced neuroscience research program focused on molecular, cellular, and circuit‑level mechanisms relevant to brain function and neurological disease. This position requires a high degree of scientific independence, innovation, and technical proficiency, as well as the ability to contribute to collaborative, multidisciplinary laboratory efforts.
Independent Research & Experimental Design- Conceptualize, design, and conduct experiments investigating neuronal signaling, synaptic function, RNA localization, molecular pathways, or related neurobiological mechanisms.
- Develop, refine, and troubleshoot assays involving neuronal cultures, rodent brain tissue, cell‑based models, or other systems aligned with laboratory research objectives.
- Apply multi‑modal analytical approaches—such as molecular profiling, imaging, or functional assays—to generate mechanistic insights that advance the team’s scientific goals.
- Perform specialized molecular and cellular neuroscience techniques, including but not limited to nucleic acid and protein assays, neuronal imaging, synaptic structure analysis, and advanced histological or biochemical workflows.
- Implement new methodological approaches that enhance the laboratory’s capability to study complex neurobiological processes.
- Maintain rigor, reproducibility, and adherence to best scientific practices in experimental execution.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in scientific journals, including drafting figures, methods, and results sections.
