Dishwasher​/Kitchen Auxiliary

St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami, Florida is hiring for a full-time Dishwasher/Kitchen Auxiliary who is responsible for keeping the wares for the front and back of the house are clean and sanitized. The Dishwasher/Kitchen Auxiliary will perform a variety of basic janitorial assignments. Actions are normally determined by specific instructions from the supervisor or by following well-defined procedures, methods, and practices.

The Dishwasher/Kitchen Auxiliary performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

• Wash all wares including pots, plans, flatware, and glasses, by hand or using dishwashers.
• Correctly place and store clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.
• Stock serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils.
• Clean trash receptacles with water or steam.
• Move dishwashing supplies and equipment from storage to work area by hand or using hand trucks.
• May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed.
• Ensure work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High-school diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid FL driver license and automobile insurance.
• Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial service.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to understand and meet restaurant standards for health, safety, and excellence.
• Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced.
• Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Direct physical activity may be required to operate machines or processes.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently.
• Demonstrated use of hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
• Must be able to stand for significant periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and move objects.
• Ability to work outdoors when required, in a hot and humid environment, as well as to work in high places.
• Able to workdays, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
• Good oral and written English-language communication skills.
