Position: OSOM Line Cook / Cashier

Job Description

LINE COOK / CASHIER

We are looking for a professional Line Cook / Cashier not only will you prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and set up stations for menu, but you will also be the first point of contact, you will greet and process customers’ orders. Line Cook duties will consist of assisting the chef with daily tasks. Cashier duties include delivering outstanding customer service include processing food orders, preparing orders, and packaging / plating the orders.

The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow chef’s instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Welcome customers and help determine their orders
  • Process customer orders and record them in the POS system
  • Ensure all orders are delivered to the customers in a timely manner
  • Respond to customer inquiries, process payments, issue receipts and change, and record customer suggestions
Requirements and Skills
  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • Proven experience in a customer service role is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Culinary school diploma is a plus
