Responsibilities and Authorities:
  • Establish annual sales goals and prepare budgets. Meet or exceed annual sales revenue goals, including sales activity production guidelines.
  • Develop expert knowledge of the hotel's product positioning, seasonality, pricing strategies, and master competitive advantages versus primary/aspirational competitive sets.
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership to sales team members, achieving assigned objectives and overall booking goals and hotel revenues.
  • Provide customer intelligence evaluating market and economic trends to adjust sales strategy and exceed customer expectations.
  • Manage the development of strategic action plans for demand generators in the market.
  • Continuously evaluate the hotel’s involvement in sales distribution channels and build strong relationships to position and market the hotel proactively.
  • Proactively report on the progress and results of strategic activities, including key metrics, conversion and ROI data to stakeholders.
  • Manage the budget to support property‑specific campaigns, promotions, and collateral to drive revenue.
  • Develop strategic alliances/partnerships to support marketing initiatives.
  • Produce effective structures, processes, and performance management systems.
  • Set goals and expectations for direct reports, align performance and incentives, manage performance issues, and hold team accountable.
  • Lead productivity and performance of the sales team with timely execution of assignments.
  • Comply with company sales reporting standards using Opera Cloud Sales & Catering and other systems; prepare pre‑trip and post‑trip reports for travel and trade shows.
  • Guide and participate in monthly sales, revenue and strategy meetings.
  • Develop, implement and execute quarterly action plans to impact key accounts and develop new business opportunities within assigned segments.
  • Suggest strategies and tactics for respective markets in the annual business plan.
  • Maintain positive relations and high visibility in industry organizations such as GMCVB, Miami/Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, and local hotel/motel associations.
  • Partner with People Services to attract, develop and retain diverse, high‑performing talent.
Requirements:
  • 5‑10 years of sales leadership experience, including strategic sales and/or brand development.
  • Expert knowledge and customer contacts in corporate and/or luxury leisure markets.
  • Experience developing and executing sales objectives, strategies, finance/budget planning and management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or related field.
  • Proven ability to recruit, motivate, train and retain management and sales teams.
  • Intellectual and analytical curiosity.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Opera Cloud, Delphi, Triple Seat.
  • Experience managing luxury brands.
  • Strong financial planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under time and resource constraints.
  • Knowledge of the travel industry, current market trends and economic factors.
  • Skill in developing and delivering sales presentations.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and communicate effectively with internal and external customers and staff.
