Sales Representative, Inside Sales
Accent Building Materials, a leading distributor of building materials to the construction industry in North America, is actively seeking an Inside Sales Representative to support our Tampa, FL distribution center customers and sales team. This new role is designed to enhance our best-in-class customer service experience and to meet the evolving needs of our sales organization, customers, and business partners. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative — a proactive team member who anticipates needs, identifies opportunities, and acts decisively to strengthen customer relationships and drive growth.
JobPurpose
Responsible for being a key support staff to our outside sales team of Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) and our customers, to drive sales and build customer relationships through phone and email interactions. Your primary focus will be selling Accent Building Materials products to existing and potential customers, while supporting our team of TSMs to meet annual sales growth targets and budgets.
You will take initiative daily — reaching out to customers, uncovering new opportunities, and collaborating with the sales team to strengthen engagement and results. You’ll make outbound phone calls, initiate email communications, handle inbound inquiries, generate leads, and build relationships to drive sales, while working from our Miami sales center.
Job Duties- Outbound & Inbound Sales:
- Actively engage with existing and potential customers via phone and email to understand their needs, address inquiries, and provide product recommendations to support and drive sales daily.
- Customer Service:
- Possess excellent customer service skills with the initiative and communication ability to ensure a best-in-class customer experience at all times.
- Lead Generation and Development:
- Work closely with the sales team and GM to identify potential customers through various channels, including cold calling, email communications, prospecting through various industry associations, and lead follow-up.
- Product Knowledge:
- Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn ABM’s product catalog, including specifications, applications, competitor comparisons, and features & benefits.
- Sales Order Process:
- Coordinate and communicate closely with the TSM team to drive sales daily.
- Effectively take initiative in managing the sales order process from initial contact to order placement and follow-up, including quoting, negotiating, order entry, and delivery tracking.
- Freight & Shipping Docs:
- Shop freight rates with our network of freight vendors for most suitable option and book freight. Print shipping documents and BOLs to Tampa facility for Ops team to process & ship.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- One to three years’ experience in inside sales, business development, or customer service roles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite:
Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word. - Comfortable using computer software, ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP a plus.
- Fluency in English & Spanish; additional languages are a plus.
