Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Our client is looking for a Sales Representative with a proven track record (minimum 2 years experience) in a similar role, possessing strong domestic/local networking and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation.

The key responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with the local market, corporate groups, M&I Travel Agencies, and domestic networking industry clients.
  • Research new market opportunities and develop strategies to penetrate companies/organizations likely to produce business for the hotel.
  • Invite potential clients to tour the property and conduct individual tours, highlighting the facilities and services.
  • Set key performance indicators, monitor, and coach performance accordingly.
  • As a Sales Representative, you will:

  • Conduct customer sales calls, presentations, and ongoing account assessments to maximize revenue potential and harness key account relationships.
  • Maintain and prospect for all ‘group & event’ related business booked directly with the hotel or through third-party agents for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events.
  • Exceed pre-determined room night and revenue goals as outlined by the Director of Sales.
  • Solicit all MICE business through the preparation, execution, and completion of Action Plans.
  • Compile and analyze weekly and month-end reports, reviewing and implementing action plans to address market share penetration.
  • Within established parameters, quote and negotiate rates with customers, handling and following up on RFPs, inquiries, proposals, and contracts within the company guidelines.
  • Conduct site inspections, facilitate FAM trips, plan and execute sales trips, and assume the responsibility as the direct sales contact within your market.
  • Complete a pre-determined number of new key prospecting calls and telephone calls per week while maintaining and improving our customer database.
  • Maintain a strong liaison between Sales and Operations to ensure all events, VIPs, and preferred accounts are managed accordingly.
  • As directed, compile and input market intelligence information into our internal system.
  • Provide feedback to the Director of Sales on changing conditions, including trends in the competition, as a result of direct solicitation, telephone, and direct mail in their market areas.
  • Please note that the position is in-person.
