The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Research Assistant 1 to work at the UHealth medical campus in Miami, FL.

Job Summary

The Research Assistant 1 contributes to research investigators by providing research and experimentation support while following established protocols. The Research Assistant 1 performs a clerical role to ensure the smooth operations of office facilities.

Core Job Functions

Sets up and operates various scientific apparatus and makes minor repairs.

Prepares correspondence and answers phones.

Formulates and maintains bibliographies and completes applications and forms.

Orders laboratory supplies and maintains culture media reagents.

Reviews and edits various materials for publication and prepares publication schedules.

Maintains appropriate logs, records, and study notebooks.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Collaborates with research investigators by providing support while adhering to established protocols.

Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.

Coordinates research kit preparation and delivery with research team.

Orders research sample collection supplies and maintains inventory.

Establishes and maintains working relationships with the research support manager and university personnel.

Generates reports with study metrics.

Attends and participates in meetings, conferences, and training groups as requested.

Core Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required

Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
