Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Specialist - Government in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence to support a secure environment. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the government location and its perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor for suspicious behavior and report any concerns according to site protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential security-related incidents.
  • Operate communication devices as required to coordinate with Allied Universal and site personnel.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports of daily activities, incidents, and/or irregularities observed.
  • Follow all site-specific instructions and protocols, including those related to the use of firearms as an armed post.
  • Assist with access control, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized individuals as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Applicants must provide a DD214 with Honorable Discharge or possess an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
