Security Guard - 17914

Description

SUMMARY – The Security Guard is responsible for monitoring the facility and approving access to visitors, guests, and employees who need to enter the building.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Main Gate Guards
    :
    Responsible for approving access to visitors, guests and employees who need to enter through the main gate, signing in deliveries, notifying the patrol guard before allowing access into the Shipping/Receiving area, monitoring access to the east parking lot and on‑base parking area, requesting a proper picture  a visitor comes to the main gate, issuing leasehold badges from the main gate, monitoring the badge reader inside the gatehouse for employees to gain access into the facility, and checking toolboxes when a new employee brings in their tools.
  • Patrol Post Guards
    :
    Responsible for all parking areas outside the facility, ensuring vehicles are parked in a designated area and not alongside the fence area, overseeing the Shipping/Receiving areas at all times when gate is opening or closing, being present at the turnstiles during shift change, breaks, and whenever employees are exiting/entering the facility, patrolling the 2nd floor after hours to ensure all doors are locked, and patrolling the east side of the building.
  • AOA Guards
    :
    Responsible for controlling access and traffic in the hangar, patrolling the east/west side of the building riding a golf cart, challenging any persons or vehicles entering the hangar area and requiring , logging all deliveries and visitors who enter/exit hangar area, ensuring that all employees or visitors have an MIA badge or leasehold before crossing the red line located on the ground in front of each hangar door.
  • All Guards
    :
    Record work time worked as directed by supervisor; comply with all AAR Aircraft Services – Miami, Inc. policies and procedures, comply with all safety procedures, keep informed of such policies and procedures and seek explanations if needed, take prudent actions appropriate for preservation of company and/or customer assets, attend work‑related training as scheduled, perform such other tasks as reasonably assigned by supervisor, and all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required; minimum 1 year related experience and/or training (one year as a Security Guard preferred).

Physical Demands / Work Environment

Must be available to work flexible shifts and days off; ability to move around as needed; regular sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and moving around facility. Environmental characteristic is an office setting; candidate should adapt to a traditional business environment.
