Position

Welder – Miami‑Dade Aviation Department

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience in gas, electric and tungsten inert gas welding in horizontal, vertical, overhead, and flat positions including layout and fabrication.
• Certificate issued by affiliates of and/or by the American Welding Society.
• Own hand tools.
• Subject to extensive screening (fingerprint checks, employment verification, and other such procedures as may be mandated by federal law) and must maintain a security clearance that is a continuing condition of employment.

• Cutting and welding metallic articles, parts, structures, and equipment for the Aviation Department.
• Apply trade skills to a variety of welding, brazing, and metal‑cutting tasks on ferrous and non‑ferrous metals.
• Operate acetylene or electric arc welding equipment to cut and weld on machinery and equipment such as truck and automotive bodies, steam and plumbing systems, pump and engine parts, dragline buckets, dozer blades and tracks, loader buckets, and other similar machinery.
• Perform horizontal, vertical, overhead, and flat welding.
