The Java Developer role includes creating user information solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining Java based components and interfaces. This position requires a person who can independently design, develop, and implement solutions as per the use case descriptions and design specifications.

Hands on experience in developing Java applications

Experience using JSF 2.x is mandatory

Strong, in-depth software development experience using Java

Strong understanding of Oracle RDBMS, Data models, SQL

Experience in writing SQLstatements

Ability to estimate development effort and timely delivery of assigned work

Ability to be proactive, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and creative

Strong team emphasis and relationship building skills

Consults with the supervisor, systems analysts, other programmers, and end users to gather information about program intent, functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, hardware and operating system environment, and interfaces with other systems.

Designs or writes program specifications based on consultations with supervisor, systems analysts, other programmers, and end users.

Converts designs and specifications into computer code.

Compiles code into programs and corrects errors detected in compile process.

Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirms program meets specifications.

Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs.

Designs and codes layouts for onscreen user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems.

Review user and technical documentation written by others to confirm consistency with program operations.

Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs.

Revises program for corrections, enhancements, or system environment changes.

Coordinates with other programmers about program revisions.

Modifies and maintains software programs written by others

Understand and analyze details provided in the use case

Understand and analyze process flow diagrams (business process workflow)

Estimate effort for technical analysis, design and development

Develop software using J2EE design patterns with emphasis on reusability

Must adhere to coding standards and design specifications

Analyze and resolve technical issues independently

Conduct peer code reviews, and perform unit testing using JSF 2.x
