Hello 👋 Future Res Qer,

ResQ is looking for a hands‑on senior engineer to drive the design, implementation, and scaling of complex cloud‑based systems (primarily on AWS). You’ll set technical direction, champion best practices in architecture and security, and mentor engineers across experience levels.

Senior Software Engineer at ResQ: you will be responsible for designing and building the tools and applications that thousands of restaurants and trades businesses across North America use to keep their operations running, seamlessly connecting them to a trusted network of vendors.

ResQ runs on a distributed cloud architecture. Our monolith is written in Django/Python and is backed by S3, Postgres, Redis, and Cloud Front. Our front‑end applications are written in React/React Native and Type Script. We make extensive use of automated testing and practice continuous deployment, enabling us to release early and often.

• Architect and maintain scalable, resilient systems using AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS, etc.)
• Lead technical strategy and execution, ensuring alignment with business goals
• Guide project planning, timelines, and cross‑functional collaboration
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and evaluate new technologies for impact
• Design and implement AI‑powered agents using large language models (LLMs)
• Partner with product and customer teams to identify and deliver AI‑driven solutions
• Apply prompt engineering and leverage emerging tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude) to accelerate development and improve customer experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
• 9+ years in software engineering (web & mobile focus)
• Experience leading teams, mentoring, and setting architecture direction
• Strong in AWS (compute, storage, networking, databases, security)
• Deep knowledge of cloud architecture, serverless, and containers
• Skilled in CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform
• Solid grasp of databases and data modeling
• Experience with Graph
  
  QL or REST APIs
• Proficient in Python, Type Script, React, and React Native
• Strong communicator and cross‑functional collaborator
• Strategic, analytical, and customer‑first in your approach
• You have a product and customer‑first mindset as we are obsessed with customer experience and setting new standards for excellent service
