Forward Deployed AI Engineer

Avenue Z, Inc. is hiring a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to build and ship production agent systems that support Avenue Z brands and platform. You will embed with business teams, identify where throughput and margin are leaking, and deploy AI agents with evaluation, infrastructure, and analytics that measure impact.

• Embed with teams working on performance media, creator and influencer, ecommerce, and analytics to pinpoint process gaps where throughput is lost or money is left on the table, then take ownership by building a production agent against that problem.
• Work closely with a business unit to diagnose where throughput or margin is lost, shipping a working agent within the first few weeks.
• Design and implement production‑grade agent systems including tool use
  , planning loops
  , memory
  , retrieval
  , orchestration
  , and human‑in‑the‑loop approval gates when money or brand safety is involved.
• Integrate deeply with revenue‑driving platforms and APIs such as Tik Tok Shop
  , Tik Tok Ads
  , Meta and Instagram
  , Amazon
  , Shopify
  , Google
  , Snap
  , plus affiliate and creator APIs.
• Build data pipelines and analytics infrastructure that connect creator content, ad spend, and attributed GMV into a unified view.
• Create an evaluation harness so nothing ships to production without a way to measure whether it is right.
• Own the underlying infrastructure:
  APIs
  , queues
  , authentication and token refresh,
  observability
  , error handling
  , rate limits
  , and cost controls
  .
• Instrument every system to tie outcomes to metrics such as hours returned
  , cycle time cut
  , spend efficiency
  , and GMV or revenue supported
  .
• Document your work, drive adoption with the teams that use it, and continue improving after launch.
• Own the problem end to end, from discovery and architecture through build, deploy, evaluations, adoption, and production support when issues appear.

• Computer science or another technical background, or equivalent hands‑on experience as a developer or self‑taught AI‑native builder.
• 3 to 5 years building and shipping software that others depended on.
• Ability to read, write, and debug Python or Type Script .
• Experience deploying and maintaining real services, with understanding of what happens underneath.
• Hands‑on experience building LLM agent systems including function and tool calling,
  RAG
  , orchestration, prompt and context engineering, and agent evals.
• Real experience integrating third‑party marketing, ad, or commerce APIs.
• Comfortable working with cloud infrastructure (
  AWS or GCP
  ), containers,
  CI/CD
  , and SQL
  .
• Fluency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor
  .
• Understanding of performance marketing including ROAS
  , CAC
  , attribution, creative testing, funnel mechanics, and affiliate and creator economics.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and high agency.
• Ability to sit with a senior executive or a head of ecommerce, understand the business problem in their language, and translate it into a system without a translator.
