Serves as the Equipment Athletics Facilities Manager which involves purchasing athletic equipment, monitoring daily maintenance of all athletic equipment, locker rooms, and uniforms.
Responsibilities- Assist with all practice uniforms and game uniforms to teams, coaches, or individual athletes.
- Assist daily maintenance of equipment, which includes laundering, repair, and general upkeep of all equipment.
- Hire and train volunteers/inter with athletics equipment duties.
- Purchase athletic equipment; order equipment according to department procedures; check in equipment upon delivery to verify receipt.
- Monitor maintenance of machines used in equipment maintenance; perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance and/or arrange for repairs as necessary.
- Prepare equipment for distribution such as stamping names or numbers on equipment in order to track it.
- Maintain accurate records, files, and computer software regarding equipment check out.
- Store and pack sporting equipment appropriately when not in use.
- Assist for putting FIU team logos on all team issues apparel and equipment.
- Help coordinate the preparation of facilities for inter-collegiate athletic team practices and contests.
- Maintain confidentiality for the department. Treat any matter pertaining to medical, academic and personal data of student athletes and any information either directly or indirectly impacting the University and/or Athletic Department with utmost confidentiality and sensitivity.
- Adhere to all State of Florida, University, NCAA, Conference USA and department rules and policies pertaining to the position of Equipment Athletics Facilities Manager. Report any known NCAA violations or concerns to the Director of Athletic Compliance and be responsible for the monitoring of any subordinate as it relates to NCAA regulations.
- Perform essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, storms, and/or any other university emergency closing. Is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
- Perform other related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
$35,705 - $38,000
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree and one (1) year of relevant experience; OR five (5) years of relevant experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
